Springtime on the Farm

March 11, 2016

Luke and I feel like we are smack dab in the middle of LOTS of various projects. We decided that rather than spread out the home improvements projects, we’d do them all together, as quickly as possible.  We thought we’d rather live in complete chaos for a short period of time versus mild chaos for a year:) So…complete chaos it is.

We do feel like things are clipping along…there is just a lot at once.  Not one room in the house looks like the way we want it to yet, but we can see the light at the end of our farmhouse tunnel!

Drywall is going in at the end of this week or next.  The electricians are finishing up in the barn today (can you say Edison bulbs and a chandelier hanging from the rafters?? ) and the sink, tub and toilet are heading into the guest bath this week too!

Luke (and I, but mostly Luke if I’m being honest) added insulation into our office and guest bedroom and and is in the process of refinishing our clawfoot tub!

Outside, we’ve been busy burning up a lot of debris in our front lawn fire pit (cue banjo music) and Luke has been spraying for wasps and plugging holes in the siding.

So, I sit here in the midst of unfinished projects (which if you know me, you know I am an efficient lady who really does not revel in unfinished business), ready to have some semblance of order…yet, happy with the progress and relishing the taste of Spring that has erupted on the farm!

The big tree (roots under house, dry-rotted, fear of falling on our house= had to go) is gone  now and we are starting to clear away the debris.

I am learning the joy of being content in all circumstances and to enjoy the beauty of where we are even if I’m ready to start decorating:)

Looking forward to sharing the “AFTER” pics with you all…but it’s important to show the process no!?

Until the next round of renos!
