It’s been a little over year since we crossed the threshold of our newly bought home in Washougal. It has been a year of great abundance, great change, great gratitude, great newness and a deep and profound sense of purpose.
The other day, I was shifting through our “stack o’ important papers” that had gathered on the entry shelving we have by the front door (sometimes it really scares me to think of what is buried in there, ufta). I saw the “Take One” listing sheet for our now home and beneath it was a handwritten, rough draft version of the letter I wrote in November 2015 to the sellers of the house.
Our realtor mentioned it might be a good idea to include a personal note with our offer, just to make sure the sellers could put a “person” to the monetary offer.
While re-reading what I wrote, I was overcome again by the goodness of God in our lives and how MUCH we love living here…it was such a nice reflection moment for me. And how appropriate (thanks Lord) that I happened to find this on our 1 year home anniversary. How cool.
I wanted to immortalize it here:
To the current owners of “The Blueberry House”,
We just had a similar experience in the selling of our home, we got a letter from a potential buyer. It really helped us to hear a little more about who would be potentially taking over “our space”…so here goes:)
We just wanted you to know what a feeling of “exhale” came over my husband and I even as we drove up your driveway. Your peaceful location, breathtaking views, combined with the way you lovingly maintained you home made us feel like we had arrived at OUR new home!
To be honest, we didn’t want to leave our last home. It has been a bittersweet move from Seattle for us. Each home we had looked at thus far down here had potential…we could talk ourselves into it…we could list positives…but after viewing your home today, I, Jordan, cried.
I felt so humbled at the thought that this home and space could possibly be ours, and I just cried. We would simply be honored to live here, start our family here (it’s almost kids time for us!:) and integrate into the community we sense here.
Of course, you need to make the decision that best supports your family, but please know how deeply we would appreciate the opportunity to share in the legacy of this special property.
Thank you so much for your consideration and God bless you!
Luke and Jordan
